Shanghai SGR Heavy Industry Machinery Co.,Ltd. is a company focusing on the design, research and development, production and sales of a series of gear transmission products. It is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of planetary gear reducers, double enveloping worm gear reducers, high-load turntables, combined reducers, small reduction motors and other products.

SGR is located in Jinshan Industrial Park, Shanghai. It is a Shanghai high-tech enterprise and has been selected into the list of Shanghai's "specialized, sophisticated, unique and innovative" enterprises. Many of its products have passed ISO9001 professional testing and certification and have been rated as a Shanghai high-tech enterprise achievement transformation project.

02 Development history of SGR

In 2007, SGR was established in Shanghai, focusing on the research and development and production of gearboxes, gear reducers, etc.

In 2009, SGR’s N series planetary gear reducer won the "First Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements in the Gear Industry" from the China Gear Transmission Association

In 2011, SGR established a research and development center mainly composed of doctoral students and senior engineers, focusing on the technical research and development of reducer series products;

In 2011, SGR passed the high-tech enterprise assessment and was selected into the list of Shanghai's "special, precise, special and new" enterprises;

In 2012, SGR's N series planetary gear reducer was rated as a Shanghai high-tech enterprise achievement transformation project;

In 2013, SGR was equipped with experimental equipment such as three-coordinate measuring instruments, geometric accuracy measuring instruments, and reducer power performance test benches, and the production and sales of reducers gradually became large-scale;

In 2023, after SGR have launched the N series planetary gear reducers and C series double enveloping worm gear reducers, new high-load turntables were launched;

In 2024 ,SGR’s drilling reducer will be officially launched soon. SGR will continue to empower the mechanical transmission industry with its leading technical strength.

03 Main Products of SGR

N series planetary gear reducer

The N series planetary gear reducer launched by SGR uses 20CrMnTi gears that are carburized and quenched before grinding. It has the advantages of multi-tooth load diversion, smooth and reliable operation, and high mechanical efficiency.

N series planetary gear reducers can replace similar imported reducers, with design concepts and production technology synchronized with foreign countries,while due to localized services, they are used in industrial and mechanical fields such as engineering machinery, ship auxiliary machinery, mining machinery, textile printing and dyeing machinery, etc. with good cost performance.

C series double enveloping worm gear reducer

The worm gear reducer launched by SGR is characterized by multi-tooth meshing between the worm and the worm wheel. The worm is made of 20CrMnTi carburized and quenched before grinding. The worm wheel is made of high-performance alloy bronze, which can maintain long-term wear resistance, high transmission efficiency and long life. Compared with the cylindrical worm and worm wheel pairs of the same specifications, the load-bearing capacity and transmission efficiency are significantly improved. Under the condition of large speed ratio, it has mechanical self-locking performance, which can effectively improve the safety performance of the lifting machinery.

SGR have conducted systematic research with related universities on the design, process, production and assembly, and testing methods of worm gear reducers, aiming to develop and promote this new transmission technology invented by the Chinese. In addition, the installation dimensions of the C series worm gear reducers are interchangeable with the CAVEX® Worm-Gear Units Type. SGR can also customize key transmission components for customers.

04 Industry influence

In Chinese market, SGR's reducer series products are widely used in horizontal directional drilling, mining chain arm saws, metal rolling equipment, ship auxiliary machinery, small hydropower generation and other equipment, and the application fields include metallurgical industry, shipbuilding industry, petrochemical machinery, light industrial machinery, engineering machinery, agricultural machinery, construction machinery and other fields. It can be said that SGR, which has been deeply involved in the mechanical transmission industry for more than 10 years, has already had a certain brand effect in China.
